Infosystem interior display, 09 Jan. 2021 21:18

Sorry for writing in english, i do not know enough German to communicate well i am afraid.

I am building a drivers workplace for Omsi2, and i would like to add some displays,

The first one would be an interior display of the type found in 1990 - 2000 year MAN NG272 type buses, it has the ‘Wagen Hält‘ sign on one side, and a yellow LCD display for the next stop.

I am looking to get one from a bus breakers, and it is an ‘Infosystems‘ branded display.

Would i be able to control this from my computer?

I will have a plain text output of what is shown on the omsi bus interior display (using Komsi) and i will need a way to translate that to something a real interior display can read.

The bus breakers has a few different displays, so if the infosystems one is not good, are there others i should ask about?

I was thinking of using something like a ‘xatlabs ibis - usb‘ board, but it says :
"Destination displays using proprietary bus systems like MONO or Alphabus can not be controlled with this converter"

I have an HPW MAS2-IBIS2 unit that is from Berlin, with the bus stop info still loaded on it, but i will have to use only the LCD and keypad from that to work with Omsi2, otherwise i would have tried to get the Infosystems display working with the IBIS directly.

This will most likely be normal IBIS and react to 003c or 009 telegram, try both of them.
The "stop" sign is likely wired as a plain signal.

So it should work with a xatlabs ibis - usb board?

as i don‘t have any of these things yet, so will need to buy all the parts to get this display working, plus a flip dot display that i want to get later.

Probably yes. You can also build a simple circuit yourself - use a usb-uart (2$) and transistor to amplify the signal to 24V.
