LAWO SICMA sign sends feedback too fast for 801/4?, 12 Feb. 2019 17:20

I got a LAWO SICMA LED destination sign (IBIS) and have connected it to a good old LAWO 801/4 control unit. Sign controlling works fine, but the feedback-text (which the sign sends back to the control unit so it can show the selected text on the small LCD) isn‘t.
Sometimes it works, mostly at start-up (when previous selected text is shown), with paging texts after the first cycle and with scrolling texts. But with plain single texts the feedback isn‘t working.
I think it has something to do with the SICMA sign controller board is sending feedback-text too fast after it receives Ds1/Ds3 (almost immediately) which the old 801/4 cannot process so quickly after it just send a Ds1/3.
Is it possible to slowdown it a little by using some settings in the custom.cfg?
With the more modern control unit L8401 it‘s working fine. But I want it to work with old 801/4 as well.
The SICMA sign controller board is running firmware v8.17. I also have 8.21 but the controller board don‘t have enough memory for it. Maybe there are other versions to try?

custom.cfg:
Steuergert = LLE8014 ;mglich: LLE8014, IBIS, Haeni, Init, Elgeba, oder AEG
Is this set in cfg, maybe you should change to LLE8014?

It‘s already on LLE8014. This is also the only option which support feedback-texts.
On older sign controllers (like MONO-master, good old 802/24 and 802/15) it works fine. Only this SICMA is too fast :(

This is just an ASCII string without identifier (not IBIS specified), 8 bit with LF and CR, without parity-byte -as I can remember.

XXXX - Text für untere Zeile, max. Länge 20 Zeichen
CR - carriage return (0x0D), Abschluß des Telegramms ohne folgende Längsparity
This is in de manual for L8401/L8402, but should be the same for 801/4.
