A data-eprom for a Brose interior sign?, 21 Aug. 2016 02:43

I‘ve got a working Brose LED interior sign  It respond to both Ds003c and Ds009, when I send a telegram it first show "Nächster halt." followed by the telegram text
But after I opened the sign, I found two empty sockets and a red switch, typically on Brose signs for putting user data in it (like fonts, texts) I‘m curious where these sockets are for? Can I put a data-eprom in it to make it respond to other telegrams? Or does it have some other uses?
I mean these, what can I do with these empty sockets? :
This is the sign I‘m talking about. It shows the firmware-version after sending a "aV7" to it :

This board is the SS4 multifunction control-board, also used in some other Brose systems.
In your case the program and all data are stored in the used EPROM. The sockets for user data must be empty.
If you want: Mybe it‘s possible to change "Nächster Halt" by editing the hex-code of the EPROM. But be careful, it is possible that the data length must be the same or at least lower than the sum of "Nächster Halt" (13). A checksum for that also could be stored.
But in principle all is possible, according to the program in the EPROM. I saw busses with this display used it for destinations and controlled with DS003.

I think, ‘nächster Halt‘ can be switched off by one of the DIP switches. I have to look for the data sheet...

I‘ll try to edit the text in the eprom, change it to dutch "Volgende halte"
There are also things like "Ready.Progr.", "Fehler", "Falsches Flash", "Downloading" and "Datenfehler" in the eprom-data :-o

I think, nächster Halt can be switched off by one of the DIP switches. I have to look for the data sheet...
