On a LAWO L8401 control unit there‘s a "M"-button. Normally this sends a w*** telegram to select a extra message when used with a LAWO sign which has a message list programmed. It just work the same like the "M" on a 801/4 control unit.
BUT: in the L8401 you can select different languages and only if you select "Dutch", the "M"-button will send x**** telegrams instead of w***. This is also mentioned in the user manuel, but without reason.
Why is this only when selecting Dutch? I want the Dutch language but also the w*** telegram Is there another firmware which doesn‘t have this "problem"?

I think there was a request of a (the one?) dutch customer in the past. With changing language, they were able to change the telegram type without creating a special firmware....

So far I know, the L8401 was not very widely used in The Netherlands. The largest serie or L8401‘s I know was in the old trams in Rotterdam which were retrofitted with DOT-LED Lawo MONO-systems and L8401. And the "M" was not used there :-|
Is there another firmware which doesn‘t have this "problem"?
