How to load new texts inside this Alpha-master unit?, 27 Jan. 2016 02:49

In the past I got a Gorba Alphabus-slave DOT-LED sign. It has stayed in a corner for some time, but today I was on a scrapyard and found a old Alphabus-master unit  It was in a bus with the same type of sign as mine, so I pulled the unit and bought it, hoping it will work with my sign. And it did work!
The unit respond to Ds003 telegrams on it‘s IBIS-interface and then send out some destinations on the Alphabus to the sign. The destinations are stored inside the unit.
But now I want to program some new destination texts into the unit, because there are only 8 destination texts in it now... not even my name... quite boring 
Which software is used to input new texts? Gorba Alpha-NT? And more important: how to transfer it to the alpha-master unit? It has a card-slot, but it‘s not PCMCIA. It has the width of a PCMCIA-card, but it only has one row of 34 pins :-o Which sort of memory card fits into this slot?

I can‘t help you with that Masterunit but if you find a CU5, you can load texts via USB or even just enter texts on the unit itself.

Really nobody who knows which type of card-slot this is? :-o
It looks like the type of slot which was inside a Gorba "Alpha-numeric download" sign, that slot also has one row of pins.

I have one of these. What telegrams can operate? Ds001, 003?

Hmmm... it looks like the card is a Panasonic BN-032MCE, 32KB. Not available anymore.
On eBay I found a 512KB one (BN-032MCE). http://www.ebay.nl/itm/PANASONIC-BN-512-SRAM-Speicherkarte-/182001894196?hash=item2a60288334:g:Nk8AAOSwoydWiUQA
But still, I don‘t have a carddrive for it, so I won‘t buy it
Is there another way to program the old Alpha-Master?
I saw there‘s a PLCC 29F040 flash-rom on the board. I‘ve carefully cut this flash-rom of the board (sorry, I don‘t have SMD (de)soldering tools), read it out on the PC and soldered a socket on the alpha-master board to place the flash-rom back.
It looks like the source was a .NTD file, but it‘s different... :-/
