Krueger small flip-dot frontsign, 01 Apr. 2013 19:47

Hello,
Since a few days I got a Krueger small flip-dot frontsign (MZ 304/11/5) and side. First of all I removed the ‘16.000.0049.1 MX-KD.Softw.F‘ EPROM.
I‘ve made the text in Krueger EIS (3x30 .HX3) and programmed to my EPROM. I‘ve put it in my EG88x and tried to get the text on my sign.
Unfortunately I don‘t get any text at my sign. The test-mode function works as it should be.
Can anyone confirm that the firmware 12.220.0001.4 MX-2.Fkt is correct in my sign?

Still nothing.
Also after changing the firmware to "12.231.0035.0 mx-3.fkt-27c256" no result.
Looking to the LEDs at the PCB, I should say the sign is fine. It also ‘blinks‘ after receiving data (liene or ziel). But no activity from the flip-dots at the front.
Someone else some idea‘s?

Hello,
I think the "new" program eprom can‘t work. The original EPROM was "MX2" - that is the name of the PCB. Using a MX3-program on a MX2 board does not fit.
I have to take a look to my PCBs - I think the firmware 12.220.0001.4 only works with DS3 - so I think it may work if you put your destination eprom on the MX2-board instead of the 16..... eprom
But I can tell you more this evening.

Hello Jens,
Sounds logic, that MX3 can‘t work at MX2. Didn‘t saw that he send me a MX3 firmware.
If your sign works, could you maybe ‘read‘ the firmware EPROM and send me the file? Then I can try if it works.
I use the 3*30 Zeichen (HX3) at Krueger EIS. Tried text in 1 row and 2/3 rows.

I‘ve tested some things and when I put the EPROM directly in the sign, it works perfectly.
When I‘m trying to use only the EPROM in the EG (and not @ the sign) then it doesn‘t work (also NO linie nr).
So it seems that the EG controller should be problem. But that should be strange to me, since with a Krueger 16x128 flip-dot the controller works without any problems.
Has someone any idea‘s?

I think the OS in the sign is deciding where the text is placed. So you wil have to change the OS in the signs to define that the texts are sent by the steering unit (3a special). When the text eprom is built into the sign, then the EG only sents ds3....

Mmm indeed, that could be the problem.
There was a EPROM at the PCB from the company (where the sign came from). I checked the EPROM and saw few texts.
So I can do 2 things
- try to get the correct firmware version for it
- just use 2 EPROM‘s and put one at sign and one at EG. (so I can see which text is at the sign).
I‘ll gonna try at InfoSystem, I‘ll hope they will respond.

Hi friends, I have one problem. I have a lot of experience with BUSE and BUSTEC panels. I wanted to send "freetext" and aA... commands to the panels, but the panels did not work just only with the text in panels. I modified the chips Eeprom, but the text doesn‘t have the correct "autoformat". I have one question, i not have a KRUEGER program for editing and loading hex via IBIS / PC converter. I have comverter from fy by BUSE (BS 105.2).
       
In return I will send programs from BUSE and software to panels BUSE or BUSTEC ... (program / database from city of Czech). Thx:)

The wrong format is because Krueger also need some formatting/control characters.
