Lawo/Luminator/Meister controller, 23 Oct. 2012 21:53
|
Hello,
I have the controller below from a bus and it looks similar to the Meister EBIS3 controller.
I would like to know if this can also be used for my Meister textsign (maybe after changing something)?
Here are some pictures;

Also I have this Meister controller, and my Meister textsign has a 4 CPC connector. Does anyone know the pin layout of the connector on the Meister controller so I could make something my own for the 4 CPC connector.

Hello,
with the infos I got about Meister signs, I think you may not use this combination. Meister seems to save the destination text in the control unit, this lawo unit is made for signs that have a destination memory itself.
The 801/4 is a base controller, it is able to send the telegrams 001 (line) and 003 (destination number). So, it can be combined with any sign that "understands" these two IBIS telegrams. If the signs expects that the controller will send the Text to be shown, it will not work..
I hope these lines will help you in managing your "problem"..... ;-)

So far as I know the text will be stored in the Meister textsign, since the controller also works with my other textsign (and his own text stored in the textsign).
So if I understood it correct, then it may work

....if this old version of Meister-signs works like this, it is a possible solution - just try

I will give it a try this week and then I‘ll let you know if it works as it should be :)

I‘ve tested the LAWO controller with my Meister sign.
1) routenr works perfectly 2) destination doesnt work
conclusion: I can‘t use the controller. Someone is interested in this controller?
I‘m looking for a GV59 LCD glass and looking for 2 Meister EBIS3 controllers.

Hello. Three years ago, repaired MEISTER LCD displays. As far as i remember they were programmed PCMCIA card on the PCB in the front display. The control unit is EBIS2. The program was loaded from a PCMCIA memory card to flash memory 28f020. Bios was eprom 27C256. The driver got feedback from the first display as Lawo driver L8104. The controller only send control codes. Displays were on the bus EVOBUS. |

Disclaimer: Lawo driver not L8104, only L801/4. |

Hello mirowski,
Thanks for your reply, I‘m very statisfied with my Meister LCD displays.
Only problem is that I got more frontsigns then controllers. So I can‘t use them yet. I tried if the LAWO also works for Meister, then it was easy, but unfortunately not.
Since you‘re saying that you 3-years ago repaired Meister Displays: they indeed need to be programmed with PCMCIA card. I got the card and software for it, so thats not a problem.
Did you also program signs? If so: could you remember how to use LxD Tools for Meister LCD? When I choose GV59 and 6 glasses etc, put some text and flash it to the display with PCMCIA it doesn‘t work. Only the LZD 4.15 (DOS program) seems to work. It would be very nice if I can get the LxD Tools working. Or do I need other firmware in my display for the LxD Tools?
